The mesh holes are just the right size to not only let small or extra small birds in, but also to allow sunlight and ventilation. Our bird wire mesh is galvanized after welding to maximize lifespan, and galvanized welded mesh is easier to clean and sanitize than wooden birdcages.
Aviary mesh is widely used in bird parks to provide a place large enough for exotic or extinct birds such as macaws, African gray parrots, finches and cockatoos. Its different mesh openings and wire gauges provide different birdhouses for different birds. Our aviary wire mesh for small birds can be used as a zoo mesh fence or cage for confinement of lovebirds, small parakeets and parrots.
Three types of bird mesh netting are available based on opening size - small, medium and large.
Finches, canaries, parrots, parrots and other small birds should be fenced with welded mesh with small openings. The big difference depends on the mesh opening. Game birds can be kept in birdhouse nets with 2" gaps, but are stronger and more effective with 1" gaps
Pet birds such as parrots can be kept in bird cage mesh with 1 inch gap. For smaller birds such as finches, you may need 1/2 inch clearance. If you are considering keeping birds and chickens, consider using a 1/4-inch wire screen.
